Mike White initially came to fame when, in a series of articles in the pages of his ''Cashiers du Cinemart'' fanzine, he took director Quentin Tarantino to task for failing to credit director Ringo Lam's ''City on Fire'' as an influence upon the making of ''Reservoir Dogs''. White claimed that many key elements of ''Reservoir Dogs'' were borrowed from ''City on Fire'', a claim he later illustrated via his own short film, ''Who Do You Think You're Fooling?'',〔("Who Do You Think You're Fooling?," )〕 while Rotten Tomatoes attempted to do the same via one of their "Homage or Stealing?" features.〔("Homage or Stealing?" )〕 In 2010, White also recently released a collection of his ''Cashiers du Cinemart'' articles and interviews in book form as ''Impossibly Funky: A Cashiers du Cinemart Collection''.
